For this portfolio exercise, I illustrated the entire story, 2 single and 14 double-page spreads, 8 examples of which are shown here.

I chose collage to give this old story a modern, graphic look, but I didn’t want to rely on Japanese and preprinted papers, instead designing all my own patterns and textures.
